About Me
I moved to Barrie in 1978 when it was a small city of only about 45,000 people. We are now at 150,000 and growing every day. Many people drive by Barrie on their way north, but never truly see what we have to offer. We sit on the shores of Kempenfelt Bay in Lake Simcoe, which was formed by glacial meltwater and is Southern Ontario's largest interior lake at 48 km long and 29 km wide. The Barrie waterfront is truly a hidden gem with beautiful beaches, parkland, boardwalks, playgrounds, walking paths and home to a multitude of festivals all year long. But enough about why I still live here!
After moving to Barrie 45 years ago, I spent 4 years in the City and then moved to Oro/Medonte from 1982-1987. We then built a home in Springwater in 1987, and were there until 2004. I have been back living in the City of Barrie since 2004.
I have 3 children, who are now grown and married, Ryan and his wife Julie and their 2 children Miles and Finn, Justin, Amber and her husband Scott and their sons Lincoln and Vincent and their daughter Holly. My husband Elmer also has 2 children, Matt and his wife Stephanie and 6-year-old Aubrey, and Kim and her husband Frank and 6-year-old Jakob. As you can see, I am very blessed with a great extended family and lots of grandchildren close by. I also have my Mom who is an active and busy senior at 98. She moved to Barrie and is enjoying a wonderful lifestyle at the Waterford Retirement Residence.
I became a Realtor® in 1997 so that I could help other families move to this wonderful area. I have built my business on a repeat and referral model by giving my clients personal service and always being available to personally answer their calls. When I am not working full time in Real Estate, I love spending time with our family, traveling, and we recently purchased a 31’ trailer and go camping with the kids. Well, maybe it’s more like glamping, we’re not exactly roughing it.
Do you have a Bucket List? I would like to share with you what’s on My Bucket List. You may think I’m crazy, my spouse sure does: I have always wanted to try skydiving, go on a River Cruise in Europe, and travel as much of the world as I can.
PROFESSIONAL AFFILIATIONS:
I have served on the Barrie & District Association of REALTORS® for 22 years, from 2001 – 2023, and currently on the Board of Directors.
I was the sitting PRESIDENT, in 2006, 2009, and 2013, and traveled from coast to coast to National, Provincial and Local Real Estate conferences dealing with industry issues.
Chair of MLS®, Finance and Executive committee, as well as various Task Forces over the years.
Committees I have served on: Discipline, Professional Standards, Governance, Service Structure Task Force, and BDAR Champion Task Force.
Master Accredited Senior Agent Designation.
